Inspecting Order Line Items & Tax Lines

Every order keeps a full snapshot of what was sold, how it was priced and reduced, and what the customer paid — available from the order history on both the Web Portal and mobile app.

1. Opening an Order's Details

  • Web Portal: on the Orders page, click anywhere on a row to expand it.
  • Mobile: on the Orders tab, tap an order card to expand it.

Both show the same underlying data: a line-item table, a totals breakdown, and a meta row with payment details.

2. What Each Line Item Shows

Each item in the order is a snapshot taken at the moment of sale — the name, emoji/photo, and barcode shown are exactly what they were then, even if the product has since been renamed, re-priced, or deleted.

  • Quantity — shown as ×N for unit-priced items, or in pounds (e.g. 1.42 lb) for weight-priced items.
  • Comped items display FREE — {reason} in green with the price struck through — the reason a seller entered when comping the item is preserved on the order permanently.
  • Discounted items (a per-line discount applied at checkout) show Discounted — {reason}, with the original line price struck through next to the reduced price.

3. Discounts, Comps, and Fee Breakdown

Below the line items, a totals section lists — only when applicable:

  • Discount ({reason}) — an order-wide discount, shown in green as a negative amount.
  • Tax
  • Card fee and Platform fee — itemized processing costs. These only appear for Enterprise-plan vendors; other plans still pay processing costs, but they're absorbed into pricing rather than broken out as separate line items (see the fee breakdown article for details). When fees are being deducted from your payout rather than charged to the buyer, they're labeled accordingly (e.g. "Card fee (from your payout)" in the Portal, "(payout)" on mobile).
  • Tip
  • Total, followed by Refunded if any refund has been issued against the order.

4. Accountability on Flagged Discounts (Web Portal)

If an order's discount or comp exceeded your Approval PIN cap and was applied without an on-the-spot manager approval, the expanded row in the Portal shows an amber "⚠ Applied without manager approval — needs review" banner with a Mark Reviewed action (owners only). If the discount was approved on the spot, the row instead shows "Approved by {manager name}". Once reviewed, it shows "Reviewed {date}" with your optional note. This accountability panel is Portal-only; the mobile app shows the discount/comp reasons but not the review workflow.

5. Payment & Session Info

The meta row at the bottom of an expanded order shows whichever of these apply: payment method (card or cash), seller name, session label, and the Stripe charge ID for the transaction. The Portal also links out to the customer-facing receipt page from here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will an order's details change if I edit the product later?

No. Every field on the order — name, emoji, barcode, price — is a snapshot taken at checkout, so past orders stay historically accurate even after you edit or delete the product.

Why don't I see a Card fee or Platform fee line on most of my orders?

That itemized breakdown is only recorded for Enterprise-plan vendors. See the fee breakdown transparency article for the full explanation.
