Selecting Locations & Location Pickers
Create market location profiles once, then pick one when opening a session to carry over its tax settings and last visit's inventory automatically.
1. Creating a Market Location
- Go to Config → Market Locations (Owner/Manager only).
- Tap + Add Location.
- Enter a Name (e.g. "Downtown Farmers Market") and start typing an Address — the app queries Google Places and shows matching suggestions to pick from, which also fills in city/state/zip.
- Optionally turn on Location Tax Override to use a different tax rate at this market than your global setting; picking an address with a recognized zip code auto-suggests a combined rate you can adjust.
- Tap Save.
Locations you create appear in Config → Market Locations, where you can Edit or delete (✕) them at any time — deleting a location doesn't affect sessions you already ran there.
2. Selecting a Location When Opening a Session
The Open Session form shows a Market Location list (your saved locations, plus a "No location" option) once you've created at least one. Selecting a location does two real things:
- Sticky settings carry over. If you've previously closed a session at that location, its Revenue Goal and Session Leaderboard on/off setting are pulled forward automatically, overriding your account-level defaults for this new session.
- Inventory is pre-filled from your last visit. The app looks up your most recent closed session at that location and pre-fills the "Inventory Brought" quantities for tracked-inventory products (and which unlimited/service items were toggled on) to match what you brought last time. The form shows a "✦ Pre-filled from your last visit" note when this happens — quantities are still fully editable before you tap Open.
If you've never closed a session at that location before, or you leave the location as "No location," there's nothing to pre-fill and you enter quantities from scratch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does selecting a location change the tax rate automatically? Only if you turned on Location Tax Override for that location — otherwise your account's global tax setting applies.
Who can add or edit market locations? Owners and Managers. Sellers can select an existing location when opening a session but can't create or edit them.
