Re-Sending Customer Email & SMS Receipts
Membrzs can re-send a digital receipt for any past order by email or text message, directly from mobile order history.
1. Where Receipt Resending Lives
Sending and resending receipts is a mobile-only feature today. On the Web Portal, the Orders page only links out to the customer-facing receipt page ("View receipt ↗") to view or share — there's no send/resend action in the Portal itself.
On mobile, open the Orders tab and tap a Paid order to expand it. A Receipt panel appears with Email and SMS buttons.
2. Sending or Resending a Receipt
- Expand the order and find the Receipt panel.
- Tap Email or SMS to choose the delivery method.
- Enter the customer's email address or phone number (pre-filled if one was captured at checkout).
- Tap Send — or Resend if a receipt has already gone out for this order.
Both email and SMS are real, independent delivery channels — email receipts go out via Resend, and SMS receipts via Twilio. SMS receipts include the order total and a link to the online receipt, and end with a "Reply STOP to opt out" line.
3. Viewing Send History
The Receipt panel keeps a running log of every send attempt for that order: a ✓ or ✗ status icon, the method used (✉️ email or 💬 SMS), the contact it was sent to, and the time it was sent. This lets you confirm a receipt actually went out — or see that a previous attempt failed — before resending.
4. Enabling Email & SMS Delivery
Whether email and SMS receipts are offered at all is controlled per-vendor. In the mobile app, go to Settings > Receipts (owner role only) and toggle Email, SMS, and Print under Delivery Options. If a channel is switched off here, it won't be usable when sending a receipt.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I resend a receipt from the Web Portal?
Not yet — resending is currently mobile-only. From the Portal you can view or share the receipt link, but sending it to the customer's email or phone has to be done from the app.
Is SMS receipt delivery real, or is it email-only?
It's real — SMS is sent via Twilio, separate from email (sent via Resend). Both are available as delivery methods from the mobile Receipt panel, subject to the Email/SMS toggles in Settings > Receipts.
