Checking Out Weight-Priced Items

Weight-priced products (like produce sold per pound) use a dedicated weight-entry screen instead of adding a fixed unit to the cart.

1. Setting Up a Weight-Priced Product

  1. In Config > Products (or Products in the Web Portal), create or edit a product and set its Pricing Type to By Weight, with a price per pound.
  2. Save the product — it now shows a "$/lb" price on its tile instead of a flat price.

2. Entering a Weight at Checkout

  1. Tap the product's tile or row (or scan its barcode), and a weight-entry card appears showing the product's name, emoji, and its price per pound.
  2. Enter the weight in pounds in the numeric field — decimals are supported (e.g. 1.25).
  3. As you type, the card shows the calculated line total live, based on weight × price per pound.
  4. If your vendor tracks inventory for this product and there's a quantity limit remaining, the card shows how many pounds are available and blocks you with an "Exceeds available quantity" message if you enter more than that.
  5. Tap Add to Cart to add the item, or Cancel to back out without adding anything.

3. Weight Items in the Cart

Each weight-priced line in the cart shows the entered weight (e.g. "1.25 lb") instead of a +/ quantity stepper. To change the weight, remove the line and re-add the product with a new weight — weight lines don't support incrementing in place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I re-scan a weight item to add more of the same product?

Yes — each scan or tap creates its own separate weight-priced cart line, so you can weigh and add multiple batches of the same product across the sale.
