Analyzing Sales Distribution by Zip Code
The By Zip Code tab in Web Portal Reports aggregates your orders, tax collected, and revenue by the zip code of each market location — useful for seeing which selling regions perform best.
1. Where to Find It
In the Web Portal, go to Reports in the sidebar and click the By Zip Code tab. Use the date-range dropdown in the top right of the tab to switch between Last 7 days, Last 30 days, and Last 90 days (this selector is shared with the Overview tab's range).
2. Reading the Table
Each row represents one zip code and shows:
- Zip — the zip code of the market location(s).
- Locations — the name(s) of every market location that shares that zip code.
- Orders — number of completed orders from that zip code in the selected range.
- Tax Collected — total tax charged on those orders.
- Revenue — total order revenue from that zip code.
Rows are sorted by revenue, highest first, with a totals row at the bottom summing orders, tax collected, and revenue across every zip code.
3. Locations Without a Zip Code
Orders whose session isn't tied to a market location with a zip code are grouped under a "No zip" row rather than dropped from the report. If every row in your report shows "No zip," the tab displays a reminder to add zip codes to your market locations under Settings → Locations — until you do, this report can't meaningfully separate your selling regions.
4. Why This Matters
If you sell at multiple markets, By Zip Code lets you see, at a glance, whether a particular geographic area is consistently outperforming others — useful for deciding which markets to prioritize, drop, or seek out more of when you're evaluating new selling locations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I export the By Zip Code report to CSV? Not currently — CSV export is only available on the Tax Report and Sales by Seller tabs.
A market location has the wrong zip code — how do I fix it? Go to Settings → Locations, edit the market location, and update its zip code. The By Zip Code report will reflect the correction the next time you run it.
Multiple locations show under the same zip code — is that expected? Yes. The report groups strictly by zip code, so if you have several market locations in the same zip, their combined activity appears as a single row with all location names listed together.
