Recording Mid-Session Cash Pulls

A Cash Pull records cash removed from an active drawer — for a bank run, paying a market fee, or general safety — so the session's expected balance stays accurate.

1. Recording a Cash Pull

  1. On the POS screen, tap the session menu pill (···).
  2. Tap 💸 Cash Pull.
  3. In the Cash Pull dialog ("Remove cash from the drawer"), enter:
    • Amount ($) — required, must be greater than $0.
    • Reason (optional) — free text, e.g. "Market fees, bank run."
  4. Tap Record.

The pull is logged immediately and reflected in the session's cash math — it subtracts from the Expected in drawer figure shown in the session menu and in the Close Session / Close My Drawer reconciliation breakdown ("− Cash pulls").

2. Where Pulls Show Up Later

  • Session menu (···): the live "Cash in drawer" balance already accounts for any pulls recorded so far.
  • Close Session / Close My Drawer: the reconciliation breakdown lists a "− Cash pulls" line (with a count of how many pulls were recorded) between "+ Cash sales" and "Expected in drawer."
  • Emailed session report: if you send a session report on close, pulls appear the same way in the Cash Drawer section of that email.

In Per Seller cash drawer mode, a pull is recorded against the drawer of whoever records it — it only affects that seller's own expected balance, not the whole team's.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I edit or delete a cash pull after recording it? No — there's no edit/delete flow. Use the Reason field to document it clearly, since it's a permanent part of that session's cash record.

Is there a limit on cash pull amount? No hard limit — any amount greater than $0.00 is accepted.
