Master Inventory Stock vs. Session Quantities

Membrzs Market tracks two different numbers for a product you stock: how much you have in storage overall, and how much you've actually brought to today's market. Understanding the difference keeps your counts accurate across multiple sessions.

1. Master Stock (Config > Inventory)

Go to Config > Inventory to see and edit your permanent, ongoing stock — the total you have on hand, not tied to any single market day. Products are grouped into three lists:

  • Stock on Hand — tracked products with a quantity already set. Each row shows the amount in storage, plus at market if any is currently allocated to an open session.
  • Needs Quantity Set — tracked products that don't have an initial quantity yet. Tap one to set it for the first time.
  • Unlimited / Not Tracked — products with Track Inventory turned off in their product settings (services, made-to-order items, etc.). These aren't editable here.

Tap any tracked product to open its quantity editor, which offers two modes:

  • Add to storage — adds to whatever is already there (e.g. after a harvest or restock).
  • Set exact amount — overwrites the quantity (for corrections).

Enter a number and tap Save.

Setting master stock all the way to 0 automatically marks that product sold out everywhere until you restock it.

2. Session Quantities (bringing stock to a market)

Master stock is what's in storage; it isn't automatically "at" any market. To decide how much of a product you're bringing to a specific session:

  1. From an open session's register screen, open the session menu and choose Manage Inventory.
  2. On the Session Inventory screen, enter the on-hand quantity you're bringing for each tracked product (setting it to 0 marks that item sold out for this session only).
  3. For unlimited/not-tracked products (services, unlimited items), use the On / Add toggle to include or exclude them from this session's register.
  4. Tap Save.

Whatever quantity you allocate here is moved out of master storage for the duration of the session — the Config > Inventory screen's "in storage" number drops by that amount, and its "at market" number rises to match. As items sell during the session, the session's remaining quantity counts down (visible per-session on the Inventory screen); master storage isn't touched again until you adjust the session allocation.

If you reduce a session's quantity for a product (or the session closes), the difference is returned to master storage automatically.

Important: With both Sessions and Inventory tracking enabled, a brand-new session with no allocations yet shows every active product on the register, unrestricted. The moment you allocate a quantity to even one product via Manage Inventory, the register grid narrows to show only the products you've allocated for that session — anything you haven't brought in yet disappears from the register until you add it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to use session quantities?

Only if Sessions and Inventory tracking are both enabled for your account (see Config > Operations). If inventory tracking is off, products are always available without quantity limits, and master stock/session quantities don't apply.

What if a product disappears from the register mid-session?

This is expected once you've allocated at least one product's session quantity — see the callout above. Open Manage Inventory and add a quantity for the missing product to bring it back.

Who can manage inventory?

Owners, Managers, and Sellers can all access Config > Inventory and Manage Inventory during a session.
