Setting a Product Sales Target & Medal Badges
Set one units-sold target when you open a session and every counted product earns a bronze, silver, or gold medal on its tile as it hits that number. It's a lightweight way to see, at a glance, which products are having a strong day.
1. Setting the Target
When you open a session (mobile POS > Open Session), you'll see a Product Sales Target (units) field just below the Revenue Goal field. Enter a whole number — for example, 10.
That single number applies to every product in the session that tracks quantity. There's nothing to configure per product.
Leave the field blank if you don't want product medals for this session. The target is set once at open and isn't changed mid-session, the same as the session revenue goal.
2. How the Medals Work
As units sell during the session, each product's tile shows a medal once it crosses a multiple of your target:
- 🥉 Bronze — the product has sold at least 1× the target (e.g. 10 units).
- 🥈 Silver — at least 2× the target (e.g. 20 units).
- 🥇 Gold — at least 3× the target (e.g. 30 units).
The medal appears in the same small badge slot as the hot/cold indicators, in the top-right corner of the product's tile or row. Once a product earns a medal it keeps it for the rest of the session, and the medal takes the place of any 🔥 or ❄️ badge on that product.
Medals only ever move up — a product that reaches silver won't drop back to bronze.
3. What Counts
- Quantity-tracked products only. Weight-priced products (sold by the pound) don't have a unit count, so they never show a medal.
- Products you brought an unlimited/untracked quantity of still count — the medal is based on units sold, not on how many you stocked.
- Medals are a read-only visual cue. They don't affect pricing, inventory, or checkout in any way.
This feature is available on every plan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I set a different target for each product?
No — it's one number per session, applied to all quantity-tracked products. This keeps it quick to set at open. Use the target that makes sense for your typical best-sellers.
What happens to the hot/cold badge when a product earns a medal?
The medal replaces it. Before a product earns a medal it can still show 🔥 or ❄️; once it hits bronze, the medal shows instead for the rest of the session.
Do medals carry over between sessions or show up in reports?
No. Medals are live within a single session only and reset when you open the next one.
